Police arrest man for armed robbery

FORT PIERCE -Police arrested a man they said is responsible for a two-year crime spree. the arrest of a suspect, fitting the description of the "red striped" bandit, will bring an end to a crime spree that began two years ago.

Cedrick Terrell Beckwith, 26, of 808 Georgia Avenue, was arrested Monday for an armed robbery of the Ramallah Food Mart, located at 3015 Orange Avenue.  Beckwith is being held in the St. Lucie County jail on $250,000 bond.

Witnesses said they saw Beckwith drive a brown Chevy Tahoe away from the scene.

Police said Beckwith is responsible for four other armed robberies and two attempted robberies since 2007.  Surveillance video from three of the crimes captured a suspect wearing a jacket similar to one found during a search of Beckwith's home Monday. Officers also found a gun, a mask and the money taken during the robbery.
