Winn-Dixie closings impact businesses

WEST PALM BEACH---Local small businesses are expected to be impacted by the upcoming closure of nine Winn-Dixie stores.

At the Belmart Shopping Plaza on Belvedere Road business is sluggish. It's nothing new. The slow down started when Winn-Dixie shut down their store in the plaza in 2009.

Several shops say their business has been down 40% since the grocer closed.  
Super Duper Liquor Store employee Sam Abo said, "Not too many customers coming down to this side because there's no grocery store to bring those people in."

A business is expected to move into the vacant Winn-Dixie space. No word on who or what type of business.
