Five people arrested for possessing and selling marijuana in Okeechobee

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY -- Police have arrested five people for drug trafficking and possession in a rural stretch of county called Red Top Dairy.

Police searched a home at 4160 SE 74th Way, off of Hwy 710, and found 251.8 grams of Marijuana, 59 unlawfully obtained prescription pills, and various drug paraphernalia. Also seized was about $2,000.  Police said the drugs and paraphernalis were for sale.

At the time of the arrests, a 3-year-old child was in the home. More charges are pending for child endangerment.


Police charged David Lyons, 53, of 2798 11 Court, with trafficking a controlled substance; Krystal Haney, 20, of 6620 NE 8th Lane, was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana under 20 grams; Sandra Howard, 46, of  4160 SE 74th Way, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Ray Howard, 46, of 4160 SE 74th Way, was charged with trafficking in controlled substance, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of over 20 Grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; Kevin Triola, 21, of 4160 SE 74th Way, is charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams.
