John Bachman

John Bachman joined the CBS 12 team in March of 2005. He comes from WRDW in Augusta Georgia. There, he covered state and local politics. He says his biggest thrill as a reporter was hitting the campaign trail covering the Democratic primaries of South Carolina and Georgia. "The greatest part about my job is that it is different everyday", he says. And that included a chance to spend a week in Daytona in 2004 covering the NASCAR scene off the track. John graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in Political Science and an ABJ in Broadcast News. As an undergrad he also attended Oxford University studying European politics and British Law. In 2002 he moved to Spain to spend a semester polishing his Spanish. John interned with WAGA Fox 5 Atlanta's I-Team, investigating and researching in-depth stories. He credits all the reporters, photographers, and producers with cultivating his love for news and solid journalism. He loves to travel and has ventured through most of Western Europe. John's goal is to "be there when history happens", and hopes his reporting will take him around the world. When he is not working, John enjoys food and loves to cook. Originally from Marietta, Georgia, he's a die hard Dawg fan even though now he's surrounded by Florida fans John did live in Tampa for 8 years, and is very happy to be near the beach.
