Two motorcyle officers pull man from I-95 ledge

BOYNTON BEACH -- Two motorcycle officers saved the life of a 23-year-old man today, when they pulled him from the ledge of an I-95 southbound ramp.

Daniel Griswold and Anthony Magnanti saw the man sitting next to a suitcase and scribbling in a journal on the southbound exit ramp of I-95 at Gateway Boulevard at about 10:30 a.m. The motocycle officers made a U-turn, and Magnanti approached the man from behind. The man then grabbed Magnanti and tried to go over the ledge, taking the officer with him.

Griswold grabbed the man, who was not identified, and Magnanti and pulled them both to the pavement.

The officers found a suicide note in the man's pants pocket. He was taken to a mental health facility.
