Police Hunt for Jupiter Murder Suspect in Miami, Did not Find Him
Miami police and the U.S. Marshall Service were on the scene of a massive manhunt, near Downtown Miami. Authorities were searching for accused killer, Paul Michael Merhige. The hunt started after a 911 caller said they spotted Merhige at the Doubletree Grand Hotel and Condominium, along North Bayshore Drive. Merhige's late sister, Lisa Knight, lived there. Authorities swarmed the building, putting it on lockdown. One witness described the man he believes was Merhige.
"Something about him looked real familiar to me and you know, I tried to initiate conversation with him and he wasn't very talkative at all. Just kind of he wanted to avoid conversation. Avoid eye contact with me," said Justin Pellegrino.
But hours later, authorities came up empty handed. Merhige is still on the loose, one week after Jupiter police say he shot six people at a Thanksgiving gathering. He killed four family members - his aunt, twin sisters, and six year old Makayla Sitton.
Meanwhile we have new video of Merhige which was taken at a Miami auto dealership the day before the massacre. It shows the accused killer, heavier than he appears in his earlier face shots. Police want the public to pay close attention.
