Some star-studded onlookers at Miami practices
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Miami football practices are closed to
the public. Unless, of course, the public is Bill Parcells and Alex
Rodriguez.
The 14th-ranked Hurricanes had some star power at their final
two workouts at their home facility this season. Rodriguez - the
third baseman for the World Series champion New York Yankees, and
whose name adorns the adjacent baseball stadium on Miami's campus -
watched practice Tuesday. He works out at the school regularly
during his offseason.
Parcells, the Miami Dolphins' executive vice president of
football operations, was there for Wednesday's workout, joined by
Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland.
Miami center A.J. Trump says "the past couple days have been
awesome."
Miami (9-3) faces No. 24 Wisconsin (9-3) on Tuesday in the
Champs Sports Bowl at Orlando, Fla.
