Woman dies off Jupiter Inlet, husband says she went overboard

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit were called out to a distressed boat Saturday afternoon at 2:47 p.m., about a mile out from the Jupiter Inlet. When deputies arrived they found 30-year old Melissa Aubrey of Palm Beach Gardens and her husband, Mike Aubrey, 48.

Mike Aubrey said he was driving his 24 foot boat when he heard a thud and noticed that his wife had fallen overboard. He told deputies he turned his boat around, got his wife back into the boat and called the Coast Guard.

CPR was performed on Melissa and she was Traumahawked to St. Mary’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

PBSO detectives are now investigating this death. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
