Josh Samuels
CBS 12 Weekend Sports Anchor Josh Samuels understands the meaning of local sports. Since arriving in September of 2008, Josh has been thrilled to be a part of a station that stresses local coverage.
Josh joins the CBS12 team from Champaign, Ill., where he spent nearly five years as the sports director at WICD-TV. In his time in Central Illinois, Josh headed a sports department that covered the University of Illinois athletic programs and pretty much everything in the wide world of sports.
Highlights of his time in Champaign saw him cover three World Series, Super Bowl XLI, the 2008 Rose Bowl, the 2005 Final Four in St. Louis, and the PGA Championship at Medinah.
Before heading to Champaign, Josh spent three years as the sports director at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colo.
Josh grew up in Newton, Mass., and is a card carrying member of Red Sox Nation. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a BS in Broadcast Journalism and still regards Boulder as one of the best places on Earth.
Josh is thrilled to be in South Florida and is getting used to the idea of being able to play bad golf all year round.
