Congressman Wexler stepping down
After 19 years total in the US House and Florida senate, Congressman Wexler is stepping down.
Congressman Wexler says he has always been passionate about issues in the middle east especailly as a member of the foreign affairs committee.
His decision to resign is two months in the making and he says it was a very difficult one to make and what he will miss the most is helping out his constituents.
"It's a bitter sweet moment, this issue now," Wexler said.
Yesterday former congressman Mark Foley alluded to possible political corruption-- some suggestions of unscrupulous dealings but Congressman Wexler says it's not true.
Wexler is set to leave Congress effective January 2010. He won't say specifically who he would like to see as his successor.
