Tara Cardoso
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Tara wakes up very early everyday to get your day started right with a smile on CBS 12 Daybreak on weekday mornings from 5am to 7am. Tara is a Florida native who loves everything our melting pot of cultures has to offer. Tara became a journalist to make a difference through truth telling, to help make a change where it's needed and to empower people by educating them. She believes in television news because she feels the powerful use of pictures and sounds can tell a story like no other... a story with emotion and real people. Tara enjoys being able to be an important part of the community, hopefully bringing people closer together by telling their stories - by taking a piece of one person's life and experience and sharing it with a million more.
Tara has been with WPEC since July 2001, starting out at a General Assignment Reporter. She graduated with Honors from the University of Miami with a double-major in Broadcast Journalism and International Studies. Tara has been lucky to be able to follow her career right here in South Florida, working for WSVN in Miami, Media One's cable news station in Broward County, and Florida's News Channel in Palm Beach County.
Tara also just took on the most important and rewarding job of her life - being a mom. She's learning new and important life lessons through her daughter eyes and is gaining a renewed sense of why life is so precious and special each day her daughter tackles another milestone. Between covering the news and teaching her daughter the ways of the world, she's got her hands full. She, her toddler and Palm Beach County Firefighter husband live in Palm Beach County with one little mischieivous cat.
