"Swim with Gills"

Tough economic times not stopping one couple from starting a new business venture that might just save your life.

Little Hannah is becoming a pro underwater. She swims three days a week with Christina Theiss by her side, "We love keeping kids safe. Educating the community and doing what we love," says Theiss. Six months ago, Christina and her husband Bryan started "Swim with Gills." They offer swimming lessons for kids of all ages, but now they have added something new to their company. Bryan now offers private lifeguards for hire, "There wasn't a service out there so even with the bad economic times we still though there was a need for it on the Treasure Coast." It's a first up here. They're hired for competitions and at-home parties. It's something the couple says is a must, "Drowning is #1 leading cause of death in Florida," says Christina. "Have those parties. Have fun, take the stress out of it and have us there," says Bryan. The Theiss' admit they are nervous for their new business venture during these tough economic times, but they believe in water safety, on all levels, in the water and outside.
