What killed a Florida Trail Hiker?
(Okeechobee County) -- A 53 year old hiker from Massachusetts is found dead north west of Okeechobee. He was found by other hikers on Monday around noon in four feet of swamp water. He was not submerged and was found clinging to a barb wire fence. Investigators are waiting for preliminary autopsy reports to figure out what killed the hiker, but the cold weather is definitely part of the investigation. Detectives want to know if the hiker was prepared for the near freezing temperatures that we have been experiencing that are so unusual for Florida this time of year. There were no signs of foul play. He was hiking the Florida Trail which runs from the Everglades all the way to the panhandle. Tara Cardoso, CBS 12 News.
