Comments 0 | Recommend 0A major hoax wasted hours of police time. They thought they had a carjacker on the loose. The 16-year-old boy, who made up the story is in lots of trouble. The incident was reported at the Kwik Stop convenience store at Military and 45th Street in West Palm Beach. Abdallah Azzam of Loxahatchee is charged with filing a false police report. Cops say Azzam called 911, telling them that he was in the parking lot selling rugs. When a man with a gun, carjacked a family of five in front of him, including a small girl strapped in a car seat. Deputies launched a search, even calling in a helicopter to assist. About three hours later, the teen admitted he made up the story.
