Significant Tri-Rail delays after double fatal accident

FORT LAUDERDALE - A fatal accident on the Tri-Rail tracks has caused significant delays. Riders are urged to use an alternative transportation.
Two people in the car are dead, and a third person has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said the accident happened at about 8:45 a.m., when a gold sedan stopped on the tracks when the railroad crossing arms came down in the front and back of the car.
Passengers on the train were not injured.
