Candidate Wants Investigation
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Wellington Village Councilman Bob Margolis, who's running for Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, has just sent out this letter to the current elections supervisor, asking for an investigation.
He feels his opponent has done something that certainly looks suspicious. But at least for now, he's not saying she broke the law..
Margolis says Democrat Susan Bucher has moved 3 times in a little over a month, in what he feels is an attempt to thwart residency requirements.
He says since mid-June Bucher has changed her address from West Palm Beach, to Boynton Beach, then back to West Palm Beach, and now to Greenacres.
And each time she signed a voter registration form under oath, affirming that was her legal address.
Bucher told me by phone quote: "This is a thinly-veiled campaign ploy to tarnish my campaign. I am in compliance with current law and always have been."
She says she did not move three times, only twice.
Rep. Bucher has been a state lawmaker since April 2000 and is now running for Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections against Margolis and incumbent Dr. Arthur Anderson..
As for whether Dr. Anderson is going to investigate, we could not reach him for comment.
Voters will go to the polls to choose a county supervisor of elections August 26.
