High Gas Prices Equal Big Business for Bike Retailers

Outrageous prices at the pump are prompting more and more people to leave their cars at home and instead hop on a bike to commute to work. This growing trend is boosting business at bike retailers in our area and across the country. At J-Town Bike in Juno Beach bike sales are up. Sales of accessories, like bike racks, bags and baskets are also up significantly because if people are riding to work or running errands on their bike they need a place to store their belongings. Sales of bike lights are also up since many are commuting home at night. Bike manufacturers have also modified some types of bikes to make them commuter friendly. By the way, Friday is national,"Take Your Bike to Work Day."
