Boat Captain Tossed Overboard Dies Monday

JUAN CARLOS FANJUL

JUPITER, FL --- The man who almost drowned Friday after falling off his charter boat in the Jupiter Inlet, passed away Monday afternoon.

61-year-old Captain Tom was in major trouble his boat, The Waterdog got caught in 5 to 7 feet sea swells as it entered the inlet.

Professional photographer Stuart Browning was near the Jupiter Inlet when he took dramatic pictures of the incident.

At one point the boat was completely on one side with Captain Henry being tossed around from side to side.

Other pictures show the boat rocked again by a wave. Henry is tossed from the fly bridge upside down and crashes face down on the deck down below only to be tossed out. He is seen hanging on for dear life to the side of the boat until he eventually falls into the water.

According to a witness, two lifeguards came out the inlet in a rescue inflatable boat and pulled the man who was floating face down into their craft. Then they headed back to shore to Seasport Marina with one of them performing CPR while enroute.

After being revived, he was transported to St.Mary's Medical Center.
