Police identified two men involved in yesterday's high speed, multi-county chase.

Solvin Forbes, 43, and Orenthal Marcel Butler 24, are in jail. Police said they will be formally charged in Federal court, but did not say what those charges will be.

Police said they were investigating the men on drug charges when Butler took off in the white Mazda sport sedan. Forbes was arrested in Miami.

According to Sweetwater police Chief Roberto Fulgueira, Butler hit a Sweetwater officer's patrol car at West Flagler Street and 107th Avenue while fleeing.

Butler headed north on Florida's Turnpike, weaving dangerously in and out of traffic, and flying through a toll booth near Land Shark Stadium.

Butler made it all the way to Palm Beach Gardens before side-swiping another car and hitting a guardrail, then coming to a stop.
