A teen hit while riding his bike, and police say the driver just took off.

Thursday, Patrick Derezil recalls the day he and his friend were hit while riding a bike, "She was on the phone I don't think she was staring at me, so while she was making the left she rammed me." Patrick says Matilda Nunez was on her cell phone and barely even slowed down. Derezil says, "She had her hands up in the window saying, "I'm sorry." Then he says she took off from a car wash on Port St. Lucie Boulevard. They had no idea who she was, but Wash N' Go Manager, Shane Berger, remembered the driver, "She locked her keys in the car, she was out there for about two hours." Before police say she hit Patrick, they say she got her car washed, locked her keys in the car and went inside for help. Surveillance video shows her inside and it shows her license plate. That coupled with the locksmiths help, police located Nunez.

Tom Nichols with the Port St. Lucie Police Department says, "We found the vehicle inside the garage. When we got the car out of the garage we noticed there was damage." The car had small scratch marks on it. Police say that was enough evidence for an arrest. Nichols says, "Her driving away she showed no regard for the well being of the children."

As for 16 year-old Patrick, his leg is healing with a few staples in it. His bike is pretty damaged. This is making for a rocky start to the basketball players summer vacation. Patrick's mom says he is going back to hospital to get his leg looked at again.

We tried to reach Matilda Nunez. She was not home nor did she answer the phone. Right now, she is charged with careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
