New Foreclosure Assistance Center Opens in WPB
Help is on the way for distressed homeowners in West Palm Beach. The City of West Palm Beach opened a first of its kind foreclosure assistance center, Monday, to give homeowners immediate relief. The city is opening the new center through a partnership with several national organizations and banks. People who come to the center will be able to take advantage of several different options. For example, homeowners may be able to negotiate new mortgage payment options, get help to find jobs and participate in a credit recovery plan to help them repair damaged credit. People who don't own a home can also look into purchasing one through the city's affordable housing program. In order to benefit from the center, homeowners have to agree to register with the city's housing, counseling and education program for at least 12 months. The new center will be located on Fern street in downtown West Palm Beach and it will be open on Monday through Friday, from nine to five.
