Congressman Wexler Speaking at Democratic National Convention

Senator Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee today announced the convention officers for the Democratic National Convention in Denver and Congressman Robert Wexler has been named a Vice-Chairman.
Wexler has been officially recommended by the Democratic National Committee Rules Committee for adoption by the full Democratic National Convention. Other convention officers include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, Washington Governor Christine Gregoire and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer.
Congressman Wexler is also slated to address the full convention on international national security issues Wednesday, August 27 between 7:00 and 7:30 EST.
"I am honored to be named by Senator Barack Obama a vice-chair of the Democratic Convention" said Wexler on Sunday. "This convention will be an opportunity for Barack Obama to introduce himself and his vision to all Americans. With their election, President Obama and Vice-President Biden will begin to turn the page on the tragic legacy of President Bush and chart a new course for our nation."
Congressman Robert Wexler is serving in his sixth term in Congress from Palm Beach and Broward Counties in Florida. He is the Obama campaign co-chairman for Florida and serves as a senior member of the Judiciary Committee and the Committee on Foreign Affairs where he serves as Chairman of the Europe Subcommittee.
