$1500 Dollar Puppy Stolen From Delray Beach Dog Shop
DELRAY BEACH--It's the dog days of summer at Waggs to Riches, an upscale dog shop on Atlantic Avenue. Police are searching for a person who stole a miniature Doberman Pincher from the business Tuesday afternoon.
"My daughter just looked down and said mom, do you have the minpin and I said no," said Kimberly Cruler who owns Waggs to Riches.
A search around the puppy palace was fast underway. But Curler soon realized her $1,500 dollar black and carmel colored puppy was long gone.
"We must have taken our eyes off the pen for a minute and that's all it took," said Curler.
Gone from this doggie heaven on earth full of cookies, canine clothes and comfy cushions. Police say they believe the puppy thief fled the doggy shop, crossed Atlantic Avenue and came inside Conspiracy Clothing.
"Apparently when she walked over here she noticed the camera and got very paranoid and freaked out," said Lynn Redeman who owns Conspiracy Clothing.
We're told she immediately dashed out. Police believe the person who took the nine week old puppy is woman in her fifties with blonde hair.
Unfortunately, the camera inside the clothing store wasn't rolling.
Meanwhile back at the doggie dynasty 10 other puppies are missing their nine week old friend. And so are the folks who loved him most.
"It was devastating coming in this morning, I can't describe the sick feeling you have in your stomach when you know and she's missing," said Curler.
Waggs to Riches says the min-pin does have a micro-chip. If anyone runs a check on the puppy, police have put out a nationwide alert to vets and shelters indicating the dog is stolen. If have any information on this crime, call Delray Beach Police.
