Help Holly, dog dragged survives

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Holly is a young pitbull puppy clinging to life.  At around 10 o' clock this morning her life almost ended.  Tied to the back of this truck, she beat the odds.

"A car going about 40 miles per hour, that's amazing that she's still with us and alive," said Dr. Fox who is taking care of the dog.

Police say Napoleon Davis offered to take the dog to the humane society, his family wanted to get rid of her.  Police don't know why they were giving up Holly.

Tom Nichols, with the Port St. Lucie Police Department said, "He put the dog in the rear bed of the truck and attached a 15 foot leash to the dog.

They left this home on Iffla Avenue, then Davis got onto busier roads.  Officers say this is where it all took a very dangerous turn, Holly jumped out of the truck, still attached to the leash that was still attached to the truck.

Nichols said, "We know the dog was dragged 1.9 miles down the roadway."

Multiple roads, including curves all on the route that ended here on Rosser Blvd.  Three witnesses saw the whole thing according to police, Davis was arrested.  We tried knocking on the family's door, no answer.  Back at the vet's, Holly is going through round after round of surgery.  The first visitor at her bedside?  The Police officer who was on the call this morning.  She put Davis in handcuffs, but can't get this puppy off her mind.  If you'd like to donate to help out this dog in Port Saint Lucie visit the website below for more information.
