Puppy Mill Dogs Rescued
Comments 0 | Recommend 0TENNESSEE PUPS HERE IN SOUTH FLORIDA
Some are overly excited with their new temporary digs at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue league, others are still showing the signs of utter shock after being rescued from one of the largest puppy mills in history.
"They're never brought out, for companionship or even a walk. Most of these dogs, have never felt the surface of the ground," said a Tennessee investigator.
700 dogs were found living in deplorable conditions near Nashville, Tennessee last week. Authorities say only two people took care of them, many dogs found in feces-filled cages with other dead animals. A call went out by the Humane Society of the United States and the Peggy Adams Rescue league sent it's own group to help out. What they saw was stunning: "Horrific conditions. No minimal standard of care, no clean environment, fresh water, and of course medical problems with the conditions the animals were living in," said Joan Carlson Radabaugh with the Peggy Adams Rescue League.
30 dogs were brought back to Peggy Adams. Many of them got their first wash ever or the human touch they have never experienced before. They are still technically evidence as Tennessee authorities bring to justice the people responsible. But they will soon be ready for adoption. "For the next two weeks, we will clean and feed them well and transition them into new homes"
