Animal Abuse Posted On YouTube

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

Shocking video showing animal abuse in our area is posted on YouTube, and now police want to track the people responsible for such a heinous crime. The incident happened on Peanut Island. In the shocking video you can see a spotted eagle ray, flapping in despair, as it is dragged out of the water, poked with a knife, and even stepped on. The people also try to cut off its tail - all while bystanders look on, laughing.

The spotted eagle ray is protected, by law, and Florida Fish and Wildlife investigators are trying to track down the suspects in the video. They could eventually face charges. Authorities are also hoping someone may recognize the people who tortured the spotted eagle ray.

If you have any information call the Wildlife Alert Hotline: 800-404-FWCC, or 800-404-3922.
