Police say the two were robbed, carjacked and the man was shot

DELRAY BEACH-- Police are searching for the gunmen who followed an elderly couple to their retirement community, robbed them, stole their car and shot the man in the neck.

It happened at 1110 Boxwood Drive around 7:30 p.m. in the Pines of Delray, a 55-plus community.

Police said two men followed 82-year-old Russell Keegan and a 90-year-old Gertrude Stern home after the couple dined at an area restaurant and then used an ATM.

The two friends were approached by the suspects in the parking lot of their condo building. The man was shot in the neck. The woman fell and cut her leg and broke her hip.

Both are at Delray Medical Center listed in stable condition.

Police say the suspects stole the man's car, a 2000 white Buick LeSabre with license plate L028RP, which was later recovered in West Palm Beach.
