Sen. Marco Rubio opens field office in Palm Beach Gardens

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Senator Marco Rubio opened a regional office on PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens Wednesday. It's his first field office in Palm Beach County. He was met by a throng of supporters, local politicians and media. His campaign decided to put down roots in northern Palm Beach County because of its strong Republican presence.
"These offices are here to serve people, no matter how you feel about me, if you have an issue with federal government, this office is here to help them and help you," said Sen. Marco Rubio, (R) Florida.
Officials say talks to bring Rubio's office to Palm Beach Gardens started four to five months ago.
Meantime, Sen. Rubio addressed a number of issues, including Obamacare.
Senator Rubio was welcomed to Palm Beach County by State Representative Pat Rooney, Jr. and dozens of supporters. He spoke for almost 15 minutes and hit the hot button issues, including the economy.
"We face some signature challenges in our country, we all know that. We have a government that spends more than it takes in," said Sen. Rubio.
Rubio touched on the president's comments from Monday where he chided the supreme court as it considers overturning all or part of health care reform. Obama said the court is taking an "unprecedented, extraordinary step."
"I'm fairly confident the supreme court will render a decision that is true to the constitution and overturn parts of the health care law," said Sen. Rubio.
Rubio also criticized Obama's energy policy.
"If only we had a government that regulations and policies allow us to access it at a time when the demand for energy is growing," said Sen. Rubio.
Rubio reiterated his support for Mitt Romney, a day after the Republican presidential hopeful won primaries in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
"I'm not going to be vice president. But I do endorse Mitt Romney who I think will be a great president and will defeat Obama in November. I'm looking forward to those debates in October when we have two guys on stage. One who has created jobs, and one who only studies it in a classroom and undermines free enterprise system," said Sen. Rubio.
One of those three fall debates will be at Lynn University in Boca Raton.
