RAW INTERVIEW: Cancer victim eveicted from home

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A Port St. Lucie woman dying of cancer is being evicted from where she has lived for the past 12 years. She's not behind on her rent. But her son does have a criminal record, and she says the manager of the park wants him and her out.

The ailing woman you're about to meet says she has cancer and multiple sclerosis, and her son says doctors don't give her very long to live. She has perhaps weeks, or a few months to live. She just got an eviction notice, and she says in her frail condition, it seems cruel the mobile home park would be forcing her out.

55-year-old Priscilla Anderjack doesn't know what she'd do without her son. He comes over a few hours a day to cook and care for his other, and a hospice nurse comes to her mobile home two to three times a week.

Priscilla lives alone in a one-bedroom mobile home at Port St. Lucie Mobile Village. She has cancer and she takes about a dozen medications. She doesn't have long to live. But the mobile home park has given Priscilla 7 days to pack up and move out.

Priscilla Anderjack: It's totally wrong. It's mean and it's cruel.

Her son is a convicted felon who served time on drug charges. He told us the manager of the mobile home park doesn't want him there due to his criminal record, so she's evicting his dying mother.

Arthur Anderjack, priscilla's son: She's heartless. I mean what kinda person, knowing the condition she's in, would do that? It's not right. She shouldn't be put through this. I don't know who to contact. I don't know what to do and that's why I'm asking you for help. Anyone that can help me, please.

While we were at Priscilla's home, the manager called police. But they let us stay. Later we tried to reach her for comment. She did not come to the door when we knocked.

Meanwhile Priscilla, who's unable to work, says she can't afford to move. She wants to live out her final days here.

Priscilla Anderjack: I can't believe anyone being so cruel to evict somebody that they already know is gonna die in two months. How can anybody do that to somebody? How could anybody be so mean to do that to somebody?

Priscilla's son says she has nowhere else to go. And even if she did, it would be expensive to pack up and move her entire mobile home to another mobile home park. He says that could cost about $15,000, and she simply doesn't have the money for that.RAW INTERVIEW: Cancer victim eveicted from home
