Child shot in drive-by: Grandfather, friends, neighbors speak out

EARLIER STORY
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The hunt is on for a gunman after a four-year-old is hit by a stray bullet in a drive by shooting. It happened just before noon at the intersection of Windsor Avenue and 32nd Street in West Palm Beach.
4-year-old Krystal Black was inside the home with her grandparents when she was hit by a stray bullet. Krystal is being treated at the hospital, and police are still looking for the people responsible for the gunfire.
Johnnie Walker: My granddaughter was sitting about here.
Johnnie Walker his wife and two grandchildren were inside his West Palm Beach home when he hears gunfire. Walker says he grabs the four-year-old and two-year-old girls to the floor. He says he notices glass fragments on Krystal's face, then realizes there's also blood on her shirt. She's been hit in the jaw.
Johnnie Walker: But it went here and came out here. Knocked all her teeth out there.
Walker says his granddaughter will need reconstructive surgery on her jaw, but she will be okay.
West Palm Beach police say Krystal's injuries are the result of a drive-by shooting. Police say this is one of two men walking on the north side of Sullivan Park when a gray Chevy drives by and someone starts firing at the men.
Allan Ortman/WPB Police: As they ran west, the occupants of the car continued shooting and shot across the street and struck the residence.
Three rounds hit Walker's house. Walker is thankful Krystal's wounds are not life-threatening, but he worries about lasting physical and mental scars.
Johnnie Walker: The last thing she said to me before they put her to sleep was she don't want to come here no more. She don't feel safe.
Police are still looking for the men responsible for the drive-by. The car is described as a newer model gray Chevrolet, possibly an Impala, with wire spoke rims.
