ANNE MEARA-OBIT

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- To most people today, she's remembered as the mother of Ben Stiller and wife of Jerry Stiller. But for decades, Anne Meara was half the comedy duo she created with Jerry Stiller -- and had a long career in TV, on game shows and the movies. Meara has died. She was 85 and a statement from the family didn't provide any other details. Stiller & Meara appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and other programs in the 1960s and won awards for the radio and TV ads they did together. Meara was also on two projects more closely associated with her family: "The King of Queens," where her hubby was a regular and "Night at the Museum," the 2006 movie that starred her son.

DAVID LETTERMAN - INDIANAPOLIS 500

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- He just left the rat race of late night TV. And yesterday, David Letterman was part of another kind of race he has long been associated with: The Indianapolis 500. The comedian's IndyCar team paid tribute to him by putting a smiling caricature of Letterman's face on driver Oriol Servia's car for yesterday's race. Letterman says being depicted on the car is the highlight of his career -- and promised to buy burgers for everyone if Servia won the race -- but it didn't happen. He was knocked out of the race with an accident a little over halfway through.

"19 KIDS AND COUNTING" PULLED BY TLC

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- TLC isn't saying when -- or if -- the reality series "19 Kids and Counting" is coming back. The network pulled the show from its schedule after reports began surfacing about one of its stars, Josh Duggar. A statement from TLC says it's "saddened and troubled" by the situation -- but didn't elaborate. And it doesn't appear the case will ever be made public. An Arkansas newspaper reports police investigated claims that Duggar fondled five girls in 2002 and 2003 -- when he was still a teen. Duggar has apologized on Facebook. And police say they have destroyed the report.

A popular reality TV show is being pulled off the air. AP Entertainment Editor Oscar Wells Gabriel explains why.

SOFIA VERGARA - EMBRYO CASE

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) -- Looks like those embryos Sofia Vergara and her ex-finance created will get their day in court. A judge in Santa Monica, California has ruled Nicholas Loeb can change his lawsuit to include a claim for custody of the embryos. Lobe and Vergara dated for several years before breaking up last year. He sued Vergara in August, demanding that the embryos not be destroyed. An attorney for Vergara has noted that Loeb signed an agreement saying both parties needed to agree what happens to the embryos -- and that Loeb is suing for publicity's sake.

"A BEAUTIFUL MIND" SUBJECT DIES

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The scientist who inspired the Oscar-winning movie "A Beautiful Mind" has died. John Nash won a Nobel Prize in 1994 -- but that paled in comparison to the battle he had with mental illness. Nash and his wife have died in a car wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike. Back in 1959, Nash was teaching at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when his schizophrenia began to emerge. The struggle was depicted in the 2001 movie "A Beautiful Mind," which won Oscars for best picture and best director. Russell Crowe, who was up for best actor for playing Nash, tweets that he's stunned by the news of the couple's death.

NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise (sih-NEES') were the hosts again this year of the National Memorial Day concert. It's the 10th year the actors have helped to honor those who have served and those who've paid the ultimate price for protecting the nation. The show yesterday evening in front of the Capitol included singer Gloria Estefan, "American Idol's" new winner Nick Fradiani, and a dramatic reading by actor Laurence Fishburne. The show was broadcast by PBS.

LUIS GUZMAN - STALKER

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) -- Character actor Luis Guzman has gotten court protection from a man who'd been stalking him. A Vermont man has agreed to stay at least a football field's length away from Guzman, who was in the movies "Boogie Nights" and "Carlito's Way." In court papers, reported on by the Caledonian-Record of St. Johnsbury, the actor says Joda Hodge used to house-sit for him -- but things went south after Hodge brought a gun last month. Guzman says Hodge agreed to leave his house, but later sent a text message that made him fear for his safety.
