LUPITA NYONG'O's OSCAR DRESS STOLEN

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It looked hot when Lupita Nyong'o (loo-PEE'-tuh nee-YONG'-goh) wore it Oscar night. Now, the $150,000 pearl-adorned dress she rocked on the red carpet is itself hot -- because it's been swiped. Authorities in Los Angeles say Nyong'o has reported the dress stolen. They say the actress told them it disappeared from her hotel room in West Hollywood on Wednesday and a search is now under way to find it. The dress features 6,000 pearls of different sizes and is part of the Calvin Klein Collection. Nyong'o won an Oscar last year for her role in "Twelve Years a Slave" and was a presenter at Sunday's ceremony.

Here are photographers at the 2015 Oscars, clamoring for shots of Lupita Nyong'o. The actress reports the dress she wore Oscar night has been stolen.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON DEFENDS JOHN TRAVOLTA

NEW YORK (AP) -- Sometimes, a kiss is just a kiss. Scarlett Johansson is defending John Travolta over what some saw as an awkward-looking kiss he planted on her on the red carpet at the Oscars. Some described the kiss as being creepy looking and it launched more than a few Internet memes. But Johansson finds nothing funny about it. In a statement to The Associated Press, she said "there is nothing at all strange, creepy or inappropriate" about Travolta -- and that he is a "class act." Johansson notes the image of the kiss you may have seen online takes their meeting out of context and says it's an example of how "we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle."

WILL SMITH - SEX SYMBOL?

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Will Smith has played a heavyweight boxing champion, a homeless man and many action heroes. But a sex symbol? He says he has trouble wrapping his head around the idea of him being the type of person the ladies swoon over. Smith says he has always been the kind of guy to use his sense of humor, rather than his looks, to win over women. He says he would have appreciated being seen as sexy a couple of decades ago. But instead he says when he was younger he "was goofy." Smith's latest movie is "Focus" and is in theaters today.

Will Smith says he has trouble coming to grips to the idea that he's a sex symbol.

WILL PATTON - DUI

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (AP) -- A DUI case for Coach Yost. Will Patton, who coached alongside Denzel Washington in "Remember the Titans, has been charged with DUI in his native South Carolina. Authorities say the actor was stopped on the Isle of Palms Tuesday night and charged in a case after blowing over the state limit of zero-point-oh-8. Apparently not much over the limit. He faces a charge of DUI with a blood-alcohol content of less than 0.10. Patton is 60 and now stars in the TNT series "Falling Skies."

NEW YORK (AP) -- Imagine a world where a cheeky cartoon cat would go around and encourage people to fire carrot sticks at people, instead of Cheetos. That theory is being put to the test by people like actress Jessica Alba. She is part of a campaign to give fruits and vegetables the kind of marketing push that candy bars, potato chips -- and yes, cheese puffs regularly get. It's called FNV -- a supposedly hipper way to say fruits and veggies. Others involved in the pump up fruit and vegetables promotion are NBA star Stephen Curry and NFL stars Cam Newton and Victor Cruz.

TEA LEONI - INSPIRATION

NEW YORK (AP) -- It's a question Tea Leoni (TAY'-uh lee-OH'-nee) says she gets asked a lot: after who does she pattern her character in "Madame Secretary?" She says she used to get so tired of being asked, she got to the point where she'd say it was Henry Kissinger -- rather than the obvious choices like Hillary Clinton, Condoleeza Rice or Madeleine Albright. In reality, Leoni says she's inspired by her father. She says her dad is "the most even-keeled, most diplomatic human being" she knows.

`AMERICAN IDOL'

DETROIT (AP) -- It was the ladies' turn on "American Idol" last night. The Top 12 women performed in Detroit, after the guys did their thing Wednesday. The judges agree that Sarina Joi-Crowe brought down the house with her version of "Mamma Knows Best." It's a Jessie J song and J-Lo says Sarina's take rivals the original. Jax also got high marks from the judges, as did Tyanna Jones. Next week, the first eliminations on this season of Idol based on viewer votes.

CONAN O'BRIEN - CUBA

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wanna see Conan O'Brien roll his own? You can next week. But you'll be disappointed if you expect that what he'll be rolling is a joint. O'Brien has been taping his show in Havana, Cuba. And in one of the segments he has done, he visits a cigar factory where hundreds of workers make cigars he describes as "works of art." You'll see him try his hand at rolling one of those legendary Cuban cigars. It's believed to be the first time an American talk show has been in Cuba since Jack Paar did a show from the Communist island in 1959.

DIANE SAWYER - PRISON LIFE

NEW YORK (AP) -- Diane Sawyer has been in prison. No, it isn't part of some past life -- but more like her future after giving up the anchor desk at ABC "World News Tonight." She has visited four prisons for a special: "A Nation of Women Behind Bars." During her visits to prisons in Tennessee, Maryland, Florida and Washington, she collected stories on what life is like behind bars for women. The special airs tonight.

NEW MEXICO AND HOLLYWOOD

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- Albuquerque, New Mexico is about 700 miles from Los Angeles. But when it comes to producing TV and movies Albuquerque is trying to close the gap with Hollywood. The city was home to "Breaking Bad." And since that AMC show went off the air, officials were worried producers might look elsewhere. But so far, things have worked out. The "Breaking Bad" prequel, "Better Call Saul" is done in Albuquerque. And NBC has begin filming its second season of "The Night Shift." Other projects are said to be in the works.
