Fireworks show behind the scenes
We are just a few hours from watching 50,000 dollars worth of fireworks go up in flames. The stage is set in downtown West Palm Beach.
"One of the largest by far in the state of Florida," said the man in charge.
The fireworks show, a fourth of July tradition. This year in West Palm Beach it's bigger than last year.
Jeff Rolfe withi Zambelli Fireworks said, "Condensed down in a little smaller time so it's more action, more of a high impact show."
Zambelli Fireworks, a power player in the business of explosions. They have more than 1,000 shows across the country tonight.
Rolfe said, "Over from Mount Rushmore to Philly to California, pretty much in every state across the country there's a show going on."
A boat ride away, this barge floats in the intercoastal. It's loaded up with 1,500 shells ready to explode. A crew of 5 guys will keep an eye on the explosions overhead. The show is computerized so the music matches it perfectly. The fireworks start right at 9 o'clock. Parking is free on the streets downtown, and docking your boat is free as well.
