7-Year-Old Motorist In Trouble Again

The cars may be fixed and the mailboxes are likely repaired, but three weeks after a joyride of destruction, the 7-year-old mini-motorist who went on a driving spree is in trouble again.
"[My grandmother] wouldn't let me have hot wings," said 7-year-old LaTarian Milton, when asked why he punched his grandmother at a Lake Park Wal-Mart.
Milton first made headlines on April 25th when he stole his grandmother's car and drove it through several busy streets in Palm Beach Gardens and Lake Park.
Drivers spotted the 7-year-old and called police to report that the child couldn't even see over the wheel.
"We're dealing with it, and he's getting counseling now," said Milton's grandmother and guardian, Vikkita Stratford. "He's going to be getting group therapy and he's having a good day."
Stratford says her grandson was not having a good day on Monday, when she took him to run an errand at the Wal-Mart. The 7-year-old asked his grandmother for chicken wings, which she usually buys him when the two visit the superstore.
On Monday, though, Stratford said no.
"I guess, with all the excitement, and everything with everybody, I don't know, maybe he was just reacting in the Wal-Mart," Stratford said.
Milton punched his grandmother multiple times before the two left the store. Police were not called to investigate.
Milton wrote about the incident during a counseling session later in the week. His grandmother says the 7-year-old has been going to a counselor since the joyriding incident.
"He said, 'I'm so sorry grandma for pushing you. I should have known better,'" Stratford read from her grandson's letter.
The child, meantime, says he realizes he did something wrong.
"I'm a good boy now," he says.
"We all go through certain things in life," his grandmother added, "but we have to get to the root of it."
