Gay Adoption Bill

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

A State Senator wants to reverse a Florida law prohibiting gay people from adopting children. Senator Nan Rich calls the law the most anti-gay parenting law in the nation.

Rich says there are more than 3,000 foster children in Florida who are available for adoption and every child deserves a permanent, loving home.

If passed, her bill would allow gay foster parents to adopt children. The measure would let judges decide if such an adoption is in a child's best interest. Meanwhile, Governor Charlie Crist opposes any change to Florida's ban on gay adoption.
