Man chases armed robber to get back gold necklace

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Fred Powell really likes his gold necklace.  That's why he refused to hand it over when a man identified by
police as John Miguel Houston pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him if he didn't give it up.
When Houston snatched the necklace from Powell's neck, police say Powell chased after him. Even after Houston fired a shot at
Powell and missed, Powell continued the chase.
Police say Houston eventually jumped into a car and was joined by another man. Powell and several witnesses began jumping on the car. Police eventually caught the two men when they got stuck in traffic.
Houston and Joshua E. Wood both face several charges, including attempted first-degree murder. No bond had been set for either man.
