Hotel deals under $20

More than 40 local hotels and bed and breakfasts are offering rooms for $19.09 for one night.

The deal was hatched by the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau.  This year the county celebrated the 100th anniversary of the county's founding as the nation's first resort destination.  But make no mistake, the hotel rooms at deeply discounted prices have everything to do with today's economy.

"And we are going to go to our VIP suite," said Rick Dell'Amico as he led us to the fifth floor suite at Boca Raton's Bridge Hotel.

The room has a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

"It's tougher with the way things are right now, it's really a challenge to get people in the door," said Dell'Amico

According to the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau tourist tax revenue created from hotel stays is down 17 percent year to date.  It's down 25 percent this March compared to last.

The $19.09 hotel room deal is meant to put a cherry on top of your stay. Here are the details.

Now Through December, depending on where you stay in Palm Beach County--- which includes hotels like Boca's Bridge Hotel, The Boca Raton Resort, The Breakers along with 40 other hotels and bed and breakfasts you'll pay just $19.09 after a stay of 2, 3, or 4 nights, depending which hotel you choose.

At here at the Bridge Hotel, it's just two nights.  And from the hotel's perspective, $19.09 is a significant discount it's better than the room sitting empty.

"We want to take part in it. We want to be able to attract as much business to the county as we can," said Dell'Amico
