Anti-Illegal Immigration Rally

No more illegal immigrants.  That was the message Sunday at a rally in Jensen Beach.  It's a controversy that's gathering steam in our area especially in the coming election season.  They describe themselves as a group of concerned citizens.  Their gathering in Jensen Beach not as large as a similar rally in Jupiter this spring, but the message is the same.  It's time to stop the flow of illegal immigration to the U.S.  State Representative Gayle Harrell led the rally.  Immigration is a major part of her reelection campaign.  She says she wants to make our borders more secure and prevent amnesty programs.  The group has criticized the existence of facilities like the El Sol Neighborhood Resource Center in Jupiter.  Mike Richmond is president of El Sol.  Each day hundreds of immigrants both legal and illegal come here to find work.  But Richmond insists El Sol does not support illegal immigration.  State estimates show there are approximately one million illegal immigrants living in Florida.
