TALK BACK NOW: Local reaction to Michael Jackson's death

The death of the King of Pop have left fans stunned and saddened, right here in South Florida.

"I got the call and I was just immediately in tears. I just couldn't believe it," said fan, Sherry Oliver.

Over at All Dolled Up salon in West Palm Beach, the death of pop star Michael Jackson is what everyone is talking about.

"I am truly feeling really sad about it, because I grew up on Michael Jackson. My kids now still love Michael Jackson. I'm so saddened by his death," said fan, Marie Lorvanis.

Jackson's death touching fans, past and present, watching it all unfold at the Palm Beach Ale House.

"He was talented. I liked him. What can I say," said a fan.

Many remembering their favorite Michael Jackson moment.

"When I as a kid listening to Michael Jackson. Beat it. I was so short I couldn't see the top of the record player, but I knew exactly where to put that needle to listen to that song over and over and over again," said Jason Burke.

"We all got together as a group and cut classes to go watch the release of the Thriller video," said a fan.

Towards the end of his life, Jackson had become quite controversial and sometimes quirky.

Some believe that will always haunt him.

"Everyone loved him and he was a child star and everyone loved him and he had an amazing voice and everyone's going to remember him for all the negative things that he did unfortunately," said Tracie O'Connor.

But for others, it's about the talent.

"Very huge loss. It'll be felt for decades," said a fan.

People that we spoke with say Michael Jackson was an amazing talent and there will never be another one like him.
