More than 800 new jobs coming to St. Lucie County

Liberty Medical Call Center is based in Port St. Lucie.
1,800 people already call it home, now 800 more will join the mix. Tuesday, in front of a crowd of business men and woman the economic boost was announced.
Liberty Medical Chief Operating Officer, Keith Jones, informed the crowd over the next several years 800 new positions will be added. Jobs will range from call center operators to managers. Jones says, "Certainly with the current economic times people are worried are companies cutting back, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to grow."
The unemployment rate in St. Lucie County is 10.6%. The city is thrilled to hear jobs are returning to the Treasure Coast. Port St. Lucie Mayor, Patricia Christenson, says, "Any jobs being added at this time with the economy being so weak is a very very positive thing for the community."
It's not just Liberty Medical adding jobs. Tuesday, J.J. Taylor companies announced it will open a brand new beer distribution center in Fort Pierce, adding 70 news jobs.
Both companies need a variety of employees. Jones says, "We are looking for great energetic people who want to make a difference. People that are positive, motivating."
Liberty Medical center wants the best, no college degree required. Just those willing to help the 20.8 million americans living with diabetes.
Liberty Medical Center received a grant from the state, which helped make their decision to stay in Florida. It will help them add the new hires, but also train current employees on new software...
