Turning holiday jobs into full time jobs
Comments 0 | Recommend 0West Palm Beach, FL--Seasonal jobs in our area are up for grabs. With un-employment numbers in the double digits more Floridians than ever are looking for work. Despite the economic downturn some businesses here in West Palm Beach and across the county are hiring for the holidays.
"We have the traditional six weeks of employment, but we’ll also retain a lot of the employees through Easter,” said Fred Meltzer who owns Hoffman’s Chocolates
At Hoffman's twenty new seasonal employees will be in place by next week.
Job experts say it's a great opportunity to turn a part time job into a full time job.
"You've got to convey the value you bring to the company,” said Mimi Coenen who works for Workforce Alliance. “You filled some short of need the employer may not have known you satisfied."
If you do land that job and hope it turns into a full time gig experts say it's important to be flexible, professional and accountable.
Workforce alliance says they do have some seasonal positions available.
