New website asks you to spend your money locally

(Royal Palm Beach, FL) -- A new website is asking you to spend your money locally to benefit the local economy and in turn, benefit us all. The argument behind this is the idea that small business owners that live here locally will recycle that money into the local economy.  Steve Price and Tony Thompson started the local version of RelyLocal.com. The website provides you with a way to search the internet for small businesses that are owned and operated locally and it gives businesses a way to get their name out there and a way to get coupons out there. The website services the western communities.  It already has a hundred local businesses listed and charges twenty five dollars a month for businesses to join.

The men behind the website say that local businesses banding together can save the local economy.  They say local small businesses are struggling right now and they need all the help they can get.  RelyLocal owners say, all too often, people stop at big box stores for one-stop shopping and all of that money is being driven out of the local economy.  They say, if that trend continues, we will see even more small businesses close.  They argue those small businesses are the heart of our local economy and if they fail, it hurts us all. Tara Cardoso, CBS 12 News.
