What started out as a domestic incident near Haverhill and Forest Hill turned deadly this morning.

Palm Beach County Sheriffs Deputies tell CBS 12 news that a man identified as Gleen Dean Gomez, 21, broke into his ex-girlfriend's home, and abducted her. Police were called to the home by the woman's frantic mother who said she was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend.

The man forced the woman to flee in a red Mazda 3 at knife point. A high speed chase ensued and ended with the male suspect holding a knife to woman's throat in the car, at least 2 deputies fired at the suspect and he was killed inside the Mazda.

Sheriff Bradshaw said deputies fired and killed the suspect when the saw him grab the woman like he was about to slit her throat. This was after deputies boxed the Mazda in and forced it to come to a stop.

"Deputies saved this woman's life," Bradshaw said. "They did a fantastic job."

This was at Southern Blvd. near 441 outside of Wellington. The female driver who had been held at gunpoint has been taken out and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. A knife can be seen laying next to the car.

Sky 12 is above the scene - stay with CBS12.com for the latest information.
