Spiderman saves Barack Obama in sold-out comic book
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Marvel Comics features the President-Elect
The comic book featuring President-elect Barack Obama is flying off local store shelves. Past, Present, Future Comics in West Palm Beach sold out of the just-released issue in two hours.
Obama's appearance was a surprise even for the local store. Marvel, who makes the Spiderman comic books, advertised it only as a special guest appearance in their coming issue.
Store employee Mark Gallo explains the storyline of the popular edition: "A villain of Spiderman comes after Obama and attempts to assassinate him and Spiderman has to come and save the day."
The special edition comic book sold for just a few dollars at the shop in West Palm Beach, but you can now find them on eBay for hundreds of dollars. A second edition, also with Obama, is expected to be released Wednesday.
