New rules for pit bulls?

Dog owners bark back against proposed laws.  Muzzles, restrictions, insurance, they're all things the state is considering for specific types of dogs like pit bulls.  It could soon become a reality for all of Florida.  Some say it's safer since specific dogs are more dangerous statistically than others.  However some dog owners argue it's all in the owner not the pet.

One pit bull owner said, "Anybody who is going to illegally fight these babies and not have compassion for the breed, they don't care about a law that's being created."

Now the bill is moving through the state senate.  Its in committee and would repeal Florida's 1990 ban on breed-specific regulations, making it easier for cities to target breeds like pit bulls.
