Weather stalls the Palm Beach Princess five miles off shore

WEST PALM BEACH--More problems for the Palm Beach Princess. The ship arrived back at the dock three and a half hours late after being stalled five miles off shore. Passengers were finally able to disembark the ship at 3:45am. An officer aboard the ship says high winds prevented the gambling boat from making a safe return.

Passengers tell CBS 12 they were concerned the delay could have been a result of a malfunctioning engine, but officials with the Palm Beach Princess say that wasn’t the case.

Many passengers on board tell us they were angry about the situation, others say they just tired to enjoy the extra time on the water.

The crew did reopen the bar and provided cookies and coffee to comfort passengers.

A tug boat brought the Palm Beach Princess back to the dock.

All passengers received a voucher for a free cruise.
