Tree trimmer killed after shooting near West Palm Beach

Suburban West Palm Beach --Investigators said one person died and one person was transported to St. Mary's Medical Center after a shooting on Pat Place, just west of Haverhill.

Witnesses said the men were Asplundh tree trimmers doing a job when they were approached by two men. An altercation occured, and the men were shot. One man fell from a ladder.

Police are still searching for the gunmen.

"We were just notified of this tragic situation," said Ronnie Gauker, a spokesman for Asplundh Tree Expert Co.  "An active and ongoing police investigation is in process, and as we still don't know exactly what happened, our primary concern right now is for our employees and their families."
