Boca police arrest teen for carjacking on his birthday
BOCA RATON -- Boca Raton police have charged a teen with the armed carjacking of a city employee.
On his birthday, the accused opened the door of a 1998 Chevy Blazer and pointed a gun at its occupant, police said. The incident happened in front of the Swim and Racquet Center, 21619 Saint Andrews Boulevard.
Another man, also holding a gun, waited nearby along with a woman, who watched.
The teen ordered the victim out of the vehicle, took his wallet and cell phone, then the three suspects drove off in the Blazer.
The vehicle was later recovered in a Lake Worth apartment complex.
