2 children seriously injured in crash
PORT ORANGE, Fla. (AP) — Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver of a Volusia County accident that seriously injured two children.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the driver was speeding in a 2001 Chevrolet SUV Monday evening near Port Orange when it clipped the back of another SUV. No one was injured.
The hit-and-run driver then lost control of the car and spun before hitting another SUV where the children were passengers. That car landed on its side.
FHP identifies the children as 10-year-old Marc Mohammed and 8-year-old Reece Mohammed. Their conditions are not yet known. The driver of that SUV is identified as 15-year-old Richard Mohammed, who suffered minor injuries. His passengers, 36-year-old Michelle Mohammed and 13-year-old Matthew Mohammed, also had minor injuries.
