How To Keep Your Property Iguana Free

Boca Raton- An ever growing iguana population was the inspiration for a homemade concoction that is now keeping the reptiles away from one Boca Raton neighborhood.

Residents say the cold blooded creatures were costing them big bucks, destroying their porch screens, plants and pool areas.

After numerous complaints to their neighborhood association, Mark Streisfeld took things into his own hands and created Iguana-Rid, which is a combination of substances believed to repel reptiles. It includes garlic and red peppers.

"If someone came to your house and wanted them to leave and you spanked their hand they might not leave, but if they hit you with a baseball bat, you'd probably go," said Streisfeld. "That is exactly what's happening here. This is the baseball bat."
